As we become more advanced..could the need for teachers increase...?

Question

Becuase of new jobs, people needing to earn more and the government not coughing up... along with many other factors.. could this all lead to in years to come, a massive demand on teachers, because the want and the desire just wont be there..?

We are already seeing a massive demand for teachers and with the new 14 -19 curriculum changes and students not being able to leave school/collage until 18 there will be more impact on teachers.  Teachers are still leaving the profession in big numbers for the same reasons as 10 years ago.  Parents and governors now realise that to improve standards you need to give more 1 to 1 teaching and this means smaller class sizes and more qualified teachers, not the unqualified teacher who are used on a regular basis at the moment.  New developments in discovering diferent learning styles and trying to target students is also more teacher intensive and will need more teachers in the long run. Unfortunatley because of negative media coverage, and despite the governments advertising campagne, there are fewer people willing to train as teacher who stay in the profession longer than 5 years...that will cause problems in future years.

I think there will be a demand for better qualified teachers and pressure to get high standards...as more children are expected to go onto higher education/uni etc grades will need to be higher and of course parents and governors will expect this from teachers...this will have knock on effect down all the age group even down to preschool as under 5's will be expected to start school with more and more skills...

however I dont think they'll neccessarily be need for more teachers unless population in general increases....I think employers will be expected to do more on the job training and apprenticeships though!
