As for me I'd say the birds are contending for a play-off spot, that's where I thought.

  1. Astros Fan.I really thought they would be in the top three of the division.I dont know why the Dodgers fan is deppressed. They have put together an awesome team for the stretch run.The Cardinal really surprised me.Hats off to the front office.Getting glaus,Putting some faith in Ludwick.Pujols is Pujols.I find it hard to beleive you thought the Cards would be in contention with the condition of their rotation before the season. But I guess every true fan would have confidence.I would have confidence if my favorite team had a front office like the Cardinals.Even Izzy went down this year and you guys are standing strong.I really thought the Yankees would be a bust this year. The white sox are a surprise and Cleveland a disappointment.I thing all of the NL needs to worry about the Dodgers. Not just because of Manny but they really are stacked. All their pitching is getting healthy at the right time.

  2. Sadly, no

Who would expect the rays to be in 1st and the yankees to be in third? :(

  3. Not even close. I thought the Twins would be fighting for last place. Not sitting in first.

  4. Yup

    Near Last and below .500

  5. Twins fan. I thought this season would be more of a rebuilding year after losing Hunter and trading Santana. The Twins are much further along than I expected - they still need some pieces, but the young pitchers have been good and outfielders Young, Span and Gomez have each contributed at different times.

  6. h**l NO, the Yankees are in 3rd i expected and expect better

  7. yeah in 1st in the nl east go phillies

  8. nope freaking rays. but i guess they were due for a good season. as much as i dont want to admit it i dont think the yankees r going to the playoffs this year.

  9. I figured the Dodgers would be up by more than 10 games, but the injury bug has hit them pretty hard.  Joe Torre has done a great job keeping this club in the hunt even though the NL West is weaker than I thought. Andrew Jones & Jason Schmidt have been really bad busts, Nomar, Juan Pierre, Rafeal Furcal and others have been injuried most of the year.  However, the younger players have played well and it didn't cost them much to get Manny Ramirez.

So, I think they will still end up winning the division.

  10. Yes!

  11. The Dodgers are slightly worse than I thought they would be this year. Twenty years without a championship is a disgrace... how do Cub fans do it?

  12. No way, first week of August I didn't think the Pirates would be 10 games under .500. I thought we would be a couple under or a couple over, but not in 5th place in the NL Central.

Oh well there is always next season.

  13. no, I am a reds fan and they are in last place.  I was hoping this would be their year, but I am afraid it is not going to happen.

  14. nope.

i thought the red sox would have Papi all season and Manny (wtf?) and Buchholz would be a good pitcher and Pap wouldn't blow saves and Ellsbury would be the spark at the top of the lineup that they were missing sincce Damon left and the bullpen would step up and they would have a huge lead in the East again...

I didn't want to think that but it was too hard not to... they were just so d**n good top to bottom...

... now they are just like any other team talent wise...

Great baseball season this year tho!  Parody has come to baseball!

  15. My team: Tigers

Ha!  Not even close.  Cabreras finally getting hot though, and Magglio is getting back to hitting for average and Granderson is doing good.

But there have been pleasant surprises.  Armando Galarraga.  Leads the team in wins and has been there most consistent pitcher.    Matt Joyce.  3rd in rookies in home runs.   And he doesn't have as many near at bats.  Maybe be a big left handed bat the tigers were looking for?  Can play left field.

I think the Tigers need to focus on there bullpen.  There closing spots are doing horrible.  Jones was there best closer and he's on the DL and he might retire after this year.  And there bull pen has been so incosistent.  Especially Rodney and Zumaya.  Rodney one game through 40ish pitches to pitch an inning.  Next performance: 3 innings, 1BB, 0H, 5K, 38 pitches.  Zumaya has walked too many batters to really do a lot of damage.

Dissapointing season definitely, but if they pull the right strings, they might be able to save this season... but I think its getting to the time to build up for next year.

  16. Yup I do

  17. In all honesty, i knew the angels were going to be good because they always do well with what they have and their style of play but i didn't think that they were going to be this good. Best team in baseball AND getting Tex? man.. didn't expect that.

And i was afraid that Saunders might not have made it into the rotation... and geez he's just doing so well along with Santana who vastly improved from last year!

    i am.. happy :)
