In the NRL, the Minor Premier gets the Giltinan Shield and a payment of $100,000, is this also the case in the AFL and if so how much is the prizemoney. This is for finishing first on the table at the end of the competition rounds, not the grand final.

  1. I dont think anything happens like that for the team top of the lader - they just get to play their finals at home and have an easier way into the grand final (have to play less games.) - the positions on the ladder in afl widely affects the finals, who plays in them, how they are played and where they are played and how many games per team need to be played.

  2. I don't think there is a monetary reward for winning the minor premiership. Sometimes in AFL finishing on top of the ladder doesn't necessarily mean you will win the Premiership (This year is an exception!), and the clubs focus on finals more.

  3. Nah.

The minor premiership is worth nothing. It's not even recognized as a premiership in AFL - just to finish on top gives the team a better run through the finals.

  4. the winner gets the bragging rights and a million bucks
