What kind of adapter do I use to have Sirius directly connected to my 2007 GMC Sierra 2500 as opposed to through FM (how it is now)? This particular truck only takes XM, according to the local dealer. I know there is some kind of XM to Sirius adapter, but I do not know what it is.

  1. There is no real Xm to sirius adapter out there.

You can use a FM modulator but still you have the same issues.

Unless the GMC sierra has an auxiliary port or can make one using GM accessories catalog you are looking at a Fm modulator..sorry...Just like it's almost impossible to add XM to a Ford radio (it will play but you are still stuck with the XM outside receiver)

  2. I don't know how....but if you can wait it out a bit, XM and Sirius should eventually be merging so you'll be able to get both services somehow.

  3. they just came out with a brain for sirius radio that will replace the xm units in gm cars. it is made to fit exactly as the xm brain does. you can get the brain at crutchfield.com

  4. I have heard that the radio has some sort of "brain" that can be switched out and changed to a Sirius "brain" if you want.  But, I have looked in all the electronics stores, and even online, and can't find anything like this.  (Or anything like it that is as simple as others have made it sound.)  The sales people in the stores had not even heard of such a thing.  I have Sirius in my car, but we were looking into it for my husband's truck (which came with XM) and we came up with nothing.
