  1. Mark is correct. It is speed and then the rate of climb is what it is. That's in the real world. 250kts until above 10,000ft and usually the 737 econ climb is 280-310 kts depending on other factors. ATC may want more or less depending on traffic.

  2. Are you familiar with ATC?  Is it your intent to pick your altitude of cruise ot go with traffic?

  3. Wrong question.

"What airspeed to I climb at?"

  4. Quick as you can.

  5. Why don'y you refer to the flight-manual?

Rate of climb depends on the ratio of thrust minus drag to weight. The thrust will vary with altitude whilst the drag is a function of the equivalent air-speed and the thrust depends mostly on the air-density (at unchanged throttle setting).

So what you call the "Ascend rate" presumably the rate of climb, is not determinate without much more data. Even the average rate of climb is not easy to find, although it should be remembered that the airworthyness requirements specify minimum values that the manufacturer must necessarily guarantee.

  6. Balloons ascend, airplanes climb. I've climbed at 6000 pm a number of times. Fun.

  7. That all depends on ambient conditions and loading of the aircraft.

Most procedures call for following a climb schedule based on speed (IAS to Mach as you climb) rather than rate of climb.
