Asdrubal Cabrera guides the Cleveland Indians to a series draw against Chicago White Sox

The four-game series between the Cleveland Indians and the Chicago White Sox ended with a 2-2 draw on Thursday, September 22. The Indians who won the first game 4-3 but could not retain their lead and lost two consecutive games, 5-4 and 8-4, only to win
the last by a big margin of 11-2.
Even though the Cleveland had a tremendous challenge to their otherwise inarguably strong offence here, the Indians had a player to rely upon throughout the series. If there was one player who dominated the whole series, it was Asdrubal Cabrera.
Indians started the series opener facing huge resistance from the Chicago White Sox. It was Asdrubal Cabrera, however, who hit a lead-off home-run in the fourth inning to pave the way for the Indians’ 4-3 success.
Cabrera was understandably quite happy with the performance he put in the game. "I'm really happy with what I've done, but I haven't thought too much about it," he said. "I think we've had a good season, and it's not over yet."
When the series started, Asdrubal had 87 RBIs to his credit. But as the series proceeded, the number magically soared to 92. This was evidence of his ever improving performance and how he has singlehandedly guided the team to majestic wins.
Of course, becoming the personification of a game-winner gives accolades by all, especially by the top tier of your team. "It's remarkable what he's been doing," Indians’ manager Manny Acta said. "What a night! This guy has been putting together some really
good numbers."
The second game that brought the two teams face-to-face at Progressive Field ended with a 5-4 win by the Chicago White Sox. Part of the reason might well be the absence of Cabrera who did not play the game as he was given rest after having had some back
injury.
The injury in his back, as Cabrera put, was not very worrying. But the team deemed the rest necessary to avoid further injury. "It hurt a lot when it happened, but it feels better now," said Cabrera, who hopes to be back in the line-up in a couple of days.
Cabrera did not come to play the third game of the series as well that went to the White Sox. Chicago dominated the game with an 8-4 victory as the Indians looked for a charged offence which seemingly is not available to them any longer since Mark Buehrle
of the White Sox pitched a good game.
As the White Sox came from behind to win the second and third game after losing the first, the Cleveland Indians seemed to have a re-assessment of the entire strategy. It was this change that helped the Indians level the series and to snap the two-game losing
streak for a series defeat.
The Indians, backed by the strong show of strength and talent of Cabrera won the game 11-2 to level the series. In five at-bats, Cabrera had three hits, five RBIs to guide his team to an amazing victory. His three-run homer was of extreme significance in
the game.
Being responsible for solo performances, Cabrera now has a .273 average this season in 149 games where he has hit 25 home-runs and 92 RBIs which include 163 hits as well. Inarguably, he is one of the prized assets the Cleveland Indians currently have. As
he continues to spark, the Indians are braced to overwhelm their other rivals as well.
