Believe me it's not just Lincolnshire. I was born in Birmingham, and moved to Cornwall. I honestly didn't realise just how nasty people can be.

I think it's bloody dreadful when people who are born in this Country decide to re-locate to another part of it, and have to face the hostility of spiteful individuals that think they own that part of England, just because they were born there.

All I can say is, it does get better with time. We stuck at it, proved we were just as good as they are, work equally as hard, (if not harder) and grew hard to their spiteful tongues.

We were accused of taking the "local's" houses, yet the Cornish are quick enough to sell them for "mega bucks" to the highest bidder in the first place, but quickly forget the fine details. We also found it hard finding work, as we lived in a very small village, where most of the inhabitants are related to each other in some way, shape or form, and if one refused us a job, they all did. However, we DID everntually find work, settle down, and got on with our lives, and now, our kid's have married local kid's, and we now find WE are now also part of that huge family.

Just keep pointing out to them that they are lucky you are the same culture as they are, and that if people in London can, (AND DO) accept people from all over the world, with different colour, religions, and habits, then they should try and accept someone from just a few miles up the motorway.

Good luck, and STICK AT IT, don't let them drive you away, because then they have won, and I wasn't going to let them do that, so YOU don't let them either.
