Ashes 2010-11, 3rd Test: England rattled by Australian pace attack; Mitchell Johnson unlikely hero
Yet another twist in the Ashes tale – Australia, who were down in the series 1-0 and seemed to have no hopes of redemption, have now made a spectacular comeback and are looking at an almost certain win in the third Test match being

England won the toss at the outset of the match and chose to field. With some good pace bowling by James Anderson and Chris Tremlett, alongside substantial support from Steven Finn, Australia were sent to the dressing room after
scoring a total of 268 runs.
With yet another low score by Australia, it looked like England would win this one and retain the title – but who could have predicted that Aussie Mitchell Johnson would suddenly regain his long lost form and turn things around
for this team? Johnson took six wickets to help send the England team packing at a shocking total of just 187 runs.
England, already facing a deficit, were not able to restrict Australia to a low total in the Aussies’ second innings, especially thanks to a spectacular century by Michael Hussey. After tea on the third day of the third Test, England
had a target of 390 runs to chase.
As soon as England’s second innings began, the Australians got into their groove: Alastair Cook was dismissed for a mere 13 runs by Ryan Harris. Henceforth, the wickets just kept on coming for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 at regular intervals. Johnson
and Harris both took two wickets each, while Ben Hilfenhaus took one. By the close of third day’s play, England had made a trifling 81 runs and lost their top five batsmen.
With two days remaining and just five wickets in hand, England are in a shambles. Australia are looking at a crucial victory that will level the series and keep them in the running for the Ashes after a poor display in the first
two Tests.
Will Australia pull this one off easily or will they still face resistance from England players? Can England provide yet another Herculean effort and defy the odds? Cricket lovers around the world are on the edge of their seats.
