The speculation that was going on over the performance of Australia in the current Ashes series put a huge question mark on their competence after being played like newbies by England in the first two games.
Australia were down and out and had to come back with a staunch answer. An answer that will put an end to all the criticism on their performance in the Ashes so far.
They day with the Australian reply to the critics and the opposing team wasn’t far knowing the aggressive nature of team which has the perfect capabilities to fight back but no one had anticipated it to come so soon. Australia has levelled the series 1-1
to keep the Ashes series alive and kicking by defeating England in the third Ashes test.
Australia certainly gave their reply to the first two games within no time. They devastated the Englishman with a 267-run win at WACA, Perth. Ryan Harris completely destructed the English batting order in their second innings in order to avenge their fury
after the poor performance in the first two Tests.
Mitchell Johnson was the other bowler for Australia who massively aided to their victory in the third Ashes Test. He took nine wickets in the match and was declared man of the match. It was badly needed by Australia to have their main key bowler Johnson
back in form and so he did.
After beating http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 at Lords last summer, this is Australia’s first victory after facing a defeat in 6 consecutive Test matches. This will certainly reduce the amount of pressure that had mounted on the Australian team and give the English a lot to think
about before the start of the fourth Ashes test at the MCG.
On the fourth day of the match, James Anderson was the first one to go off the bowling of Harris. His off stump was unsettled courtesy a beauty from Harris. Ian Bell and Matt Prior were the remaining hopes for the England team after losing their key batsmen.
Bell played a few elegant shots but eventually his leg was found in front of the wicket and was given out.
Just a couple of deliveries later Matt Prior became another victim of Harris by giving a difficult chance to Mike Hussey who made no mistake to give Harris a five wicket haul. Graeme Swann was rattled by Johnson as he inside edged his delivery onto the stumps.
The last one to go on the fourth day to give Australia their first victory this series was Steven Finn who edged it to the third slip off the bowling of Harris who took his sixth. Being 5 for 81 at the end of the third day, chasing a huge total set to them
by Australia who themselves were 5 for 69 in their first innings, England were all dismissed for 123 runs in the second innings.
This match has certainly given the Ashes a u turn. The series is certainly alive again. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 should feel much relieved for the time being and certainly will have the momentum on their side before start of the fourth Test. Will Australia show the same
determination in the next match? Will England post a strong statement in the next game? No one really knows but that is what makes it so much interesting.
