Ashes Series: England hopeful to overcome Adelaide fear
England have landed at the new venue, to take-on their traditional opponents, in a different way. The outlook seems to be similar from where they left in Brisbane, yet the intentions look to be unique. They are in search of a favorable result at Adelaide, to initiate the domination process. Any happiness that they have of ending the last match, on a high, has been neutralized by the performance they displayed during the first three days of the match. It is lucky for a team to recover from a first innings score of 260 runs, and save the match at the end. England’s captain, Andrew Strauss .explained to the media,
"We are nil-all in the series and we are going to have to improve our performance".
The intent was clear that they want to dominate the series, in the rest of the matches to be played. He was adamant that they have saved the Brisbane encounter, yet the performance
was below par. He was also aware of the fact that if this is not done, the other team will capitalize on the opportunity and take it all away.
The record for Aussies is not that impressive at Adelaide, like that in Brisbane; still the venue is in favor of them. The place is known as the “Bowler's Graveyard”, which will test each side. However, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, in 2003. Ponting scored a strong double century, but was not enough to prevent the team from losing. Of all those victories in Adelaide, none has provided the Kangaroos with the same pleasure, as they wanted.
"In the last Ashes, the Test win here was probably the best test win I was involved with"
said Ponting, who scored a brilliant century at Adelaide. He explained how the match was close, and they recovered late, yet the outcome was in the team's favor. Strauss also remembered the encounter and expressed that it was difficult times for England. But he was of the view that one has to learn from mistakes, so they can be avoided in future. There is also the fact that the game can turn any moment, shifting the momentum in favor of the other team.
