“I am confident he can be a Real Madrid player next year,” he said. Meanwhile, the Premier League champions have pulled out of the race to sign Mesut Özil. Instead, they will switch their attentions to Özil’s Germany teammate Sami Khedira from Stuttgart. Chelsea will also compete with Manchester United and Manchester City for the signing of Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli as well.
Manchester City are expected to sell Robinho and Craig Bellamy as part of an £80million clearance this summer. Brazilian Robinho could head to AC Milan, while Bellamy is a target for Tottenham Hotspur.

The Liverpool defensive midfielder has said it would be a “dream” for him to move to the current Italian and European champions. Also, new Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson is considering making a £6million bid for South Korean striker Park Chu-Young, who currently plays for AS Monaco, while Ryan Babel is wanted by Birmingham boss Alex McLeish for £8million.
Sunderland manager Steve Bruce will continue in his attempts to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Nelson Valdez. A second bid has been made by the club for the Paraguayan frontman, who featured at the World Cup. Meanwhile, Owen Coyle is set to sign Marcos Alonso for £2.2million from Real Madrid to bring him to Bolton.
