Ashley Young: England’s target was to get all three points against Wales in EURO 2012 qualifier
Influential England winger Ashley Young has expressed disappointment on the Three Lions’ performance against Wales in Euro 2012 qualifier. However, the Manchester United attacker has insisted that England’s main aim was to secure all three points against
their British rivals, as Fabio Capello’s men are aiming to finish at the top of Group G.

Young told the reporters, "We wanted to get the three points to boost our chances of getting to the top of the group and we have done that. The performance wasn’t great but you go out to win the game and that’s what we’ve done."
Moreover, the Red Devils attacker also admitted that the Gary Speed’s team was more affective in the second half and insisted that England clearly struggled against their British opponents in the last 45 minutes. Wales looked the better side in the second
half as the Speed’s side looked more aggressive and desperate in their search of an equaliser.
The 26-year-old added, "We knew Wales were going to come out and play with a bit more flair and put us under more pressure and I’m not too sure what it was in the second half but we just couldn’t get going."
However, Young has claimed that England are now focusing on getting a positive result in EURO 2012’s final qualifying match away against Montenegro, who are currently placed second in Group G. The former Villa winger believes that the Three Lions face a
daunting task at Montenegro but he is confident that Fabio Capello’s men will be able to secure all three points.
"We’ve got another tough game coming up against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Montenegro-c2959 away. I’m sure we’ll come away with three points if we put in a good performance,” Young concluded.
England are currently leading their Group of Euro 2012 qualifying round and are unbeaten as they have secured five wins and only two draws.
