The Manchester United winger has took it upon himself to answer his critics who level allegations of diving at him as he was put under the spotlight after simulating for a penalty against Aston Villa in Manchester United’s
Premier League match...
Young was chastised by his manager and fans alike after going down too easily in Manchester United’s English Premier League encounter against Aston Villa but the Englishman is adamant that he is not a diver. In his latest interview,
Young made it clear that he was not a diver and that all of his focus right now was on doing well for the English national team at the European Championships in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032.
Young will be one of the probable starters for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736’s absence the former Watford forward has been handed the role of playing just behind the front man whosoever
it is. This new role has taken Young’s fancy up till now and he has done well as he has already made an impact with a few goals and assists in the international arena for Hodgson’s England.
Roy Hodgson will bank on Young once again to come good against a steely French side which has not done well in recent international tournaments as they failed to even get past the group stages in the FIFA 2010 World Cup.
Young said, "At the end of the day, the referees came to the decisions they did. I'm not a cheat. I'm not a diver. I won the penalties. The matter's been left now. I am feeling confident on the back of a few goals and assists."
He added, "There has been a lot talked about what I have to do in that role just off the striker. A lot of emphasis has been put on me. I thrive on the pressure. I enjoy it. It is an opportunity to run at defenders. That is what
I am there to do. There is no better feeling when I do that."
If England want to do well at the European Championships then they will expect Young to do well in the international arena, especially in the group stages where Wayne Rooney is not eligible to play for the Three Lions.
