Ashraf defends Misbah’s captaincy – Cricket News Update
The Chairman of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972, and expressed full confidence in the leadership of the 37-year-old veteran.
Ashraf, while speaking to reporters, has praised Misbah’s captaincy record and said that one or two losses cannot force the board into looking for potential replacement, adding that his calm and collective approach has been pivotal in helping the national
team to achieve success.
"Misbah has been retained because he remains calm and cool under pressure and does not take pressure. His track record as captain is very good and we can't change captains on basis of one or two bad results," said http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashraf-c46397.
The current Men in Green skipper has been impressive since taking on the captaincy of the national team in 2010. Under his tenure so far, they have won 14 out of 19 one-dayers and have enjoyed success in 9 (15) Test matches with only a solitary loss, along
with 5 draws.
In spite of the productive results, the veteran is often criticised for his passive approach, which was evident in the recent humiliation against England last month, where they were whitewashed 4-0  in the ODIs before losing the T20 internationals by 2-1
margin.
"It is disappointing the way we lost to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747," said the chairman
while defending the skipper.
The 59-year old further added that the board is keeping everything in view while making decisions and will act accordingly as per the necessary requirements. A committee will be called upon once the Asia Cup is over to analyse the performances of the team
and to draft the future line of action.
PCB has taken several necessary steps over the past few weeks to ensure that the side turn around their poor run of form, among which include the appointments of a new head coach, a fielding coach, and a new selection committee.
