Ashraf welcomes India’s response on bilateral series – Cricket News Update
The chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Zaka Ashraf, has expressed his satisfaction after receiving positive response from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) regarding the resumption of bilateral series between the two countries.
According to media reports, the President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, during his recent visit to India, raised the issue with the Indian Prime Minister, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Manmohan-Singh-c74213, who responded positively and assured to take up the case with BCCI.
Following his appointment in Oct 2011, Ashraf has shown eagerness over playing a series against India despite getting little response from his counterpart.  After several failed attempts, he claimed that their close neighbours are afraid of playing the Men
in Green.
However, after the latest development, the chairman is aiming to restart negotiations with the Indian Board and devise a formal plan to ensure the series is given a go ahead by all parties.
“It’s a big development. I also saw reports about talks on a series-revival and we welcome the news,” said Ashraf.
Furthmore, the 59-year-old PCB chief has warmly greeted the comments made by BCCI vice president, Rajiv Shukla, who hinted the probable inclusion of Pakistani players in next year’s Indian Premier League and clarified that India were not against “Pakistan
or Pakistani players”.
“Everything is tied to the resumption of bilateral cricket ties between the two countries. Once that happens, I think everything will happen automatically,” said Shukla.
BCCI also provided hope to the Green shirts regarding their participation in this year’s Champions League T20, provided all goes well.  The board, however, blamed the hectic cricket scheduling of the Indian team as a major hindrance for them in not holding
formal talks with the PCB over the prospect of a full fledge tour.
Apart from the bilateral series, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 are already scheduled to play against each other in the Future Tours Program of the International Cricket Council between 2012 and 2018 - subject to approval from both governments.
The PCB chairman remains optimistic that the resumption of cricket between two nations will further pave way for bringing the fans close to each other.
“The revival is very important for the cricket boards as well as the fans from both the countries. Not only cricket, it will help bring the nations closer,” said http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashraf-c46397.
