Despite outfoxing the Windies in the Test series, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/R-Ashwin-c2228 seems not to keen on focusing on the Men In Blue’s trip to Australia, while asserting that his next challenge is to perform well in the upcoming limited overs fixtures against the Caribbean
outfit.
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Tamil-Nadu-c853 player had an exceptional debut five-day series, where he rose above all to emerge as the Player of Tournament. The spinner was at the thick of all what was good associated with his team, enabling them to conjure a 2-0 lead even before the
third Test match started.
He stamped his authorities in the final five day game as well, treating the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Tendulkar-c2556 failing to reach to his hundredth ton, the player showed composure and
proved his worth to the team with defiant knocks.
His contributions with the ball were highly effective, claiming a total of 22 wickets at an impressive average of 22.90. With such all-round performances, he has given the side an added option in the lower order in terms of batting, but the player is not
to keen in labelling himself as an out an out all-rounder.
“I work on my batting very hard and try to keep improving all the time. But I am not interested in tags. My job is to contribute to the team's cause and I am happy doing that,” said Ashwin.
With the focus of many now turning to the trip Down Under, the spinner still wants to remain focus on helping his team to gain dominance in the upcoming ODI fixtures, where they lock horns with West Indies in a five-match series, starting from 29th
of November.
“This series has been quite wonderful and it's yet to sink in. But this is only the beginning of the journey and I don't want to take anything for granted,” said Ashwin.
“Before that (trip to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746), there are five ODIs against West Indies and I am concentrating on that for the moment. I know the Australian series will be a challenge, but I will take it as it comes,” added Ashwin.
