Asia Cup 2012: Stuart Law cautions Bangladesh against complacency – Cricket News Update

The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Stuart-Grant-Law-c91460, has urged his players not to get carried away with the win over India and instead shift their focus on the upcoming game against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup – which will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium,
Mirpur on Tuesday, March 20, 2012.
The victory over the Indian team will count for nothing if they lose to the Lankan’s, as the Bangladeshi’s are in a must win situation. If the Bangladesh team wins against Sri Lanka in the 6th game of the Asia Cup, they will reach the final of
the tournament for the first time in their history.
Encouraging his boys to play with the same vigour as they did against India, Law said, “I'm just trying to tell the boys, 'Yesterday was fantastic but it means nothing; we've got to win the game against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 and get to the final'. After the Asia Cup,
we can celebrate and look back at fond memories.”
He further said, “It's very important for us as a group after all the hard work we have put in for this tournament. We didn't have a great preparation time but it has been intense. To win against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, the current world champions, is a feather in our cap.
However, we've still got a very important game and if we don't win that game [against Sri Lanka], the win the other night won't matter.”
Bangladesh is currently third in the points table, with four points from two games. A win will propel them to eight points, the same as India, and a better head-to-head record in the tournament will put them in the final against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 on March 22.
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bengal-c771 Tigers will have to play out of their skins to beat the Lankans. History is also against them, as they have lost 27 games out of 29 that they have played with the World Cup 2011 finalists.
If Bangladesh manages to beat Sri Lanka, they will have the crowd support in the final and that could help them achieve the unbelievable.
