Asia Cup Match Review: Iraq 1-2 vs. Iran – Part 2
Iran were simply being dominated throughout the first half. Their starting of the game was average and the Iraqis were definitely trying their best to find the back of the net on a regular basis. However, the Iranian team tried
their best to find feet on the ground and they just did what they were required to do with only 4 minutes left in the first half. The midfielder Andranik Teymourian gave a wonderful through ball towards the winger http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gholamreza-Rezaei-c14785, who easily got past the
Iraqi defensive walls and after being one-on-one with the goalkeeper, the Iranian slid the ball past Mohammed Kassid to put his team back into the game.
Meanwhile, both the teams tried to entertain the crowd by playing attacking football. Iraq, who are also the Asian Cup Champions, created the first chance of the game and it was Mahmoud who was left alone, but Rahmati was there
to save the day for his team.
Even though Iraq looked to be deadly while attacking, Iran were the team who proved to be dead ball specialists. Whenever there was a free kick near their attacking area, they would trouble Iraq up front. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hadi-Aghily-c15518 tried to head
the ball in after a free kick, but Mohammed Kassid was there to stop the ball from going inside the net.
Iran tried to play counter attacking football throughout the second half and that was the reason why the Iraqi defence looked to be lazy at the back. They were too busy attacking as they tried to trouble the Iranian defensive walls.
However, during the 75th minute, Iran got a wonderful opportunity to win the game. Ahmed Ibrahim gave a lazy back pass, which found Rezaei in front of Mohammed Kassid. As the Iranian tried to shoot, the Iraqi goalkeeper made his ground easily and
made himself look bigger to make it hard for the opponent to score. However, 9 minutes later, the Iranians took advantage of the weak defence and found the back of the net.
Iran were simply outstanding in the second half while defending. However, they found it hard in front of goal as they barely took any shots on target. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Iman-Mobali-c16920
took the free kick and curled the ball in for his team with only 6 minutes remaining in the game.
