  1. Your best bang for the buck will be a Bobobie Sprite.  She sells for $128.00 including faceup (paint already applied to the face).  This is a mid-size doll, about 43cm.  The best part about Sprite is that she can wear clothes from friends2bmade, which are very affordable.  A shirt only costs $4.  Bobobies can be bought from junkyspot.com.  They are based in California and ship very quickly within the US.

  2. Well, if you can't afford the resin ones, there are always Obitsu, which are made of vinyl instead. They tend to go for much less! The vinyl is just softer than resin. Some BJD fans even prefer Obitsus over the resins for posing and stability's sake. I don't have a direct link, but I think Junkyspot carries them, or you could try Googling for Obitsus, or go check out the forums on Den of Angels for more information, if you haven't already been there. Hope this helps a little! Other than Obitsus, I don't know any less expensive ones, and I'm not familiar with many American makers. It also depends on whether you want a 60cm one or a 45cm one. Angel of Dream carries the smaller sized ones for about $195 (not including shipping, of course.) I hope you can find one that interests you; BJDs usually bring lots of joy to their owners ^_^
