Asian Games 2010: http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 stages the second upset of the semi-finals at the T20 cricket tournament
The 13th day of the Asian Games 2010 saw two huge upsets in the debut sport of Cricket at Guangdong stadium, Guangzhou, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/China-c40996.
Bangladesh booked their place in the finals as they defeated early favorites http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 by five wickets.
The Tigers managed to stun the second string Sri Lankan team in the semi finals to reach the finals which would be played on Friday. The victory in the semi-final makes sure that they at least get conferred by a silver medal.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat first,  Sri Lankan openers Nuwan Zoysa and Jeevantha Kulatunga tried hard to give their team a steady start as Kulatunga hit 25 off 19 balls. Zoysa and Kulatunga fought hard to find runs in between the Tiger’s short
ball deliveries. However, Zoysa fell into the trap of Bangladesh’s Nazmul Hossain as he was caught behind by Naeem Islam.
After the fall of the first wicket, the middle order failed to create any magic on the pitch as the wickets kept on falling with regular intervals. The top scorer for Sri Lanka was Chinthaka Jayasinghe who smashed two sixes scoring 28 runs off 22 balls.
The Tigers camp including the national players bowled tremendously well as they bowled out the Sri Lankan team at 101 runs in 20 overs.
The star bowler of the day was Suhrawadi Shuvo who took four wickets for six runs. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Naeem-Islam-c2053 and Nazmul Hossain scooping up single wickets each.
Bangladesh started off their innings in a shaky fashion as opener Mithun Ali gave away his wicket to Zoysa.
Nazimuddin (16 off 14 balls) and Captain Mohammad Ashraful (18 off 15 balls) shared a good partnership as they steered their team to safety with a recorded run rate of 6.65 runs per over.
However, the top scorer of the Tigers squad was Faisal Hossain who hit 33 runs off 24 balls which including three boundaries and a six. Naeem Islam was the other top scorer who made 25 runs. Sri Lanka’s bowling attack lacked pace as the only saving grace
was Zoysa who took three wickets off 15 runs.
The Bangla men reached their target in 15.2 overs with the loss of five wickets and staged the second upset of the day.
Earlier today, underdogs http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 by 22 runs to reach the final of Asian Games 2010 cricket tournament.
The Tigers will be clashing with the Afghan men on Friday as both the teams eye the gold medal for their country.
