Asian Games 2010 T20 competition: Pakistan eyes their first gold medal in Asian Games
As the men of Pakistan in the Asian games are raking in bronze medals for their country, the women in green shirts are taking up the responsibility of winning the gold medals for Pakistan in cricket.
The women convincingly defeated Japan in the second semi-final of the Twenty20 cricket competition of the Asian Games 2010 by nine wickets.
Japanese skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ema-Kuribayashi-c55954, won the toss and chose to bat first. The strong-willed Pakistani women bowled beyond perfection and continued their combination of good luck and form in the tournament.

In reply, the women in green shirts chased the target very easily for the loss of only one wicket as the openers gave a confident start to the game. Openers Nida http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rashid-c84058 remained unbeaten on 27 runs and Javeria Wadood smashed 29 runs off 25 balls when she
was the only wicket to have been dismissed by Japan’s bowling attack.
Earlier Bangladesh’s women’s team beat China by nine wickets in the first semi-final at Guangzhou, China. The match was one sided as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Salma-Khatun-c88162 was the player of the match as
she took four wickets.
China was being projected as a new market for cricket as the home side’s aspirations suffered a reality check. Although Bangladesh’s coach Rai Choudhary applauded the potential of the Chinese squad as they are very “progressive” and have the will to “never
give up”. China’s Sun Mengyao was the only one to have managed to reach double figures as she was bowled out for 10.
China’s vice captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sun-Huan-c91805 said in the post match conference that cricket has been a part of the sub-continent's culture and Bangladesh and Pakistan are not new to the sport. In contrast to Asian countries such as China and Japan, who have been “introduced
to the sport in their teens”. However, the teams were very proud to have made it to the top four.
Early favourites Pakistan and Bangladesh would be meeting on November 19th, Friday to play the final match of the T20 competition before the men’s competition begins on Saturday.
