Asian Games Kabaddi latest; India win both mens and womens final in China
The men’s Kabaddi team of the India captured the gold medal at the Asian Games after getting the better of Iran in the finals with a score line of 37-20 on Friday.
With this victory, the Indian side has now won twelve gold medals in the sixteenth edition of the ongoing Asian Games along with fifteen silver and thirty-two bronze medals.
The determined Indian kabaddi players performed brilliantly and showed their immense talent just at the right time. They looked confident right from the start of the final on Friday as they outclassed their foes by taking a comprehensive
lead of 24-3 at the lemon-break.
The Iranians, however, did not give up easily, came back strongly in the latter half, and got some important points to trim down the margin.
The men’s kabaddi team of India made their way into the final at the Asian Games in China after posting a convincing win over Japan on Thursday. They played equally well and showed great class to limit the Japanese who could not
score much in the game as the final score line rested at 52-17.
Earlier in the day, the women’s Kabaddi side of India also recorded a convincing 28-14 win over Thailand in the finals to capture the eleventh gold for their country at the Asian Games on Friday.
The Indian players did well to take a lead of 17-7 quickly at half time. They also won a couple of bonus points in the first half. The second half followed a similar script against the Thailand players on the ground as the Indians
continued their form and dominance by earning a number of bonuses and getting 20 outs to seal win in the end.
They advanced into the final after overcoming Iran in the semi final round by a close margin of 23-22. The battle got into an exciting mode when it was levelled 22-22 in the closing time and concluded in extra time.
India, by virtue of both final victories, also set history by winning both men’s and women’s Kabaddi finals at the Asian Games in a single season.
