World number 72 Peng Shuai of China dismissed her 40-year-old foe Kimiko Date Krumm in the semi final of the Asian Games Women’s singles tennis event to make her way into the final on Sunday.
Shuai beat Krumm in three sets 7-6, 3-6 and 6-2.
The right hander Peng who started off her 2010 campaign by competing at the Brisbane International achieved her career high ranking of world number 31 back in 2005. The right hander posted the best result of the season by winning a title at the $100,000
ITF event in Taipei which was contested on carpet. She made her way into the finals after getting the better of Bojana Jovanovski and Tamarine Tanasugarn. In the title battle, the Chinese overpowered Ayumi Morita in straight sets.
Her other notable performances in 2010 include two quarterfinal appearances at the Family Circle Cup and Estroil Open Women’s singles competition.
Peng sealed win over Krumm in China, who captured her first  singles gold at the Hiroshima back in 1994, in three sets and will now take on either Uzbekistan's Akgul Amanmuradova or Sania Mirza of India.
The 24-year-old Peng started off the match strongly as she quickly took a lead of 5-2 in the first set. Kimiko, however valiantly fought back to take the opening set to the tie-break which the Tianjin resident edged when her foe went long with a backhand.
A mistake-ridden second set followed which highlighted a total of seven breaks of serve, including all four of Peng's service games as Krumm steadied the ship to level the set.
The Chinese right hander blitzed her way through the final set, racing to a lead of 4-0 and confirming a final position on her third match point when Krumm netted a return.

Although Kimiko unleashed an impressive fifty nine winners, she also committed a total of seventy three unforced errors against Peng.
The 1.73 metre-tall Peng has already assisted China in winning team gold at Guangzhou and is also in the women's double semifinals along with her partner Yan Zi.
