Im looking to live in Asia for some time, anywhere from India eastwards. Does anyone know of any places that resemble the artistic hotspots of the past (and present), eg. Paris, New York, Vienna. I guess im looking for a contemporary arty/bohemian atmosphere filled with great young Asian artists and writers. Thanks in advance!

  1. You could try Yogyakarta in Indonesia.

It always been the City of Education for Indonesia. And at surrounding area, we could find 9th century Borobudur building. The biggest ancient Budhist temple in South East Asia.

At Yogyakarta also we found one of the oldest and still existing Indonesian royal Sultanate: Yogya Sultanate.

Living cost there would be cheap. Some says it was the cheapest of all the biggest cities in Indonesia. People are very friendly. You'll have a good time there.

  2. Hong Kong is a good city to go to!
