Asia’s finest to show their skills in SAIL Open – Asian Tour News
The Asian Tour event of SAIL Open is all set to tee off today at the beautiful par-72, Delhi Golf club. The total otal prize money sanctioned by the sponsors is US$ 300,000 which has attracted a lot of golfers from Asia. The top seeded players have already
confirmed their participation and ready to show their skills on the course from Tuesday.
This is going to be a four day event and the conditions of the Arnold Palmer designed Delhi Golf course will certainly be challenging for all the contenders. The fairways are in immaculate shape and the greens will surely be a test for all players on the
field.
It will be a star-studded field as the top contenders look forward to exhibit their skills on the course. India’s ace player Gaganjeet Bhullar has already been tipped as the favourite to win the tournament. Bhullar has had much success playing on the domestic
as well as the Asian circuit. The 22-year won his second Asian Tour event last year in Asian Tour International. He is all charged up for the tournament and this is one of his favourite courses.
This year has turned out to be a formidable one for him as he won a tournament playing on the European Challenge Tour. Bhullar is one of the rising stars of India and his hard work on the practice range is certainly paying off. He is coming off a victory
on his home soil where he played on the local tour of India for professionals.
The local lad Sujjan Singh, who earned his Asian Tour card this year in qualifying School, has already proven himself. Singh played exceptionally well during his first outing of Avantha Masters and finished tied for the fifth spot. He looked in exquisite
touch during all the four days and now is hoping to mark his maiden victory.
After playing the practice round, Singh said, “My goal is to keep my ranking, hopefully move up in it and win on the Asian Tour. I’ve won on the Indian Tour so winning on the Asian Tour is my next goal,”   
Shiv Kapur of the host country will also be among the contenders. Kapur who came second last year in this tournament is hoping to capture the title this year. The 29-year won his first Asian Tour title six years back and is hoping to end his title drought.
Shiv was seen hitting some great shots during his practice round and was looking confident with his putting.
Other mentionable players participating are Australian Marcus Both, Thai pair of Prom Meesawat and Chapchai Nirat and the experienced veteran Gaurav Ghei.
