  1. The thing about why people say that Asics make the best running shoes, is because they are just like the best selling running shoes, it doesn't necessarily make it better, just more popular. A lot of people wear different types of shoes. Whether you are buying spikes or just plain running shoes, all you have to do is make sure that they fit you well and that they are made for running. The brand doesn't matter too much, however try to buy a brand that is a big company(one that you've heard of and know you can trust(all the ones you have named qualify, along with Adidas, Brooks, Reebok, etc.)) rather than one that a store makes just for their store. It will last longer and work better in the long run.

But the most important is that the shoes fit. If they are too small or too big, don't get them. I have had bad experiences with both. When, I first started running I got too big spikes and I just thought I could grow into them, bad choice. My ankles were very strained because they tried to keep my shoes from falling off,I got a lot of injuries. And, afterwards, i decided to get too small ones, worse mistake. I ran a race in spikes a size too small, and the whole time i thought that my feet were sweating really badly or something, because they felt wet. And, when the race was over, my feet hurt REALLY badly so i took off my spikes. My socks were soaked with blood. I like broke off the heel of my foot during the race, but the adrenaline in running the race masked the pain until I finished the race. So, advice....just get ones that fit comfortably....Don't get a kind because your friend or some running star has them, they could be GREAT for them, but not for you.

    Good Luck with your running!

  2. Asics have good arch support and a nice toe spread. They arn't vey good when it comes to heel comfort, so I put gel heel inserts in my asics. It's the only way to fly.

  3. Nike hasn't put out a good pair of shoes since bill bowerman invented the waffles for the bottom of the shoes.

Saucony isn't bad, their training shoes are better than their racing shoes.

Asics I think are by far the best of the 3, great cushioning and support and they are almost coming out with new cushioning technology.

  4. I suggest brooks.  Not any of those.  I had asics and i didnt like them, and same thing with nike.  And dont get nike shox,  they are way to heavy of a shoe to run with.  Go with brooks.  they are the best shoe out there.

  5. I've had Asics in the past and liked them. I never liked Nikes much as far as running shoes go, but then, I haven't bought any in the past several years so they could have gotten better; they just never fit my feet quite right. I think it's mostly personal choice as far as this goes.

  6. Its not the shoe that makes the runner.

Its the runner him or herself.

  7. nikes are tightttt

  8. asics are best for some people

saucouny are the best for some people

nike shox are the best for me

  9. I like Nike but it depends what fit YOUR foot

  10. Asics indeed makes excellent shoes.  I've run on Asics and New Balance exclusively for 20+ years.

That said, it's all about fit and your feet.  I can't stand Nike running shoes, but I know people who swear by them.

How unique your feet are will help determine which shoes you buy.

    Wide feet?  Narrow?

    Stability control?

    Pronate?  Supinate?

    Heel striker?

    Fashion considerations?

I am a huge advocate of being measured and fit at a running shoe store.  You don't really pay more, and you end up with a shoe that suits your needs.

Don't shop by manufacturer name, but by what YOU need.

  11. For me, I love Sacouny. Asics are good shoes and probably my second favorite. Unless it's a racing flat, I would run barefoot before using a Nike.

It is a matter of what is most comfortable on your foot.

  12. It really depends on many things.  I highly suggest going to a shoe store that specifically sells running shoes.  If it's a good store, they will take a look at how you stand and your feet.  They will suggest some shoes, and let you run a bit in the store to see if you like them.

  13. Between asics, saucony and nike.... for me ASICS is good.

  14. All three are good running shoes but what really matters is finding one that fits your foot, try going to a specialty running shoe store. They will help you find one that is best for through a variety of in-store tests. Running shoes are more expensive at these places, but having the right shoe will pay off in the long run.

  15. nike does, Asics #2 Saucony #3 IMO
