Question:

Asics.....?

So I'm sort of a shoe snob when it comes to my running shoes...I'm exclusively an Asics girl...I've tried pretty much every brand--I really hate Nike and Adidas--they're way too heavy for me. I've been running in Asics Gel Enhance III (which @ 70 bucks is one of their lower end models but they work great for me) and love them but I've completely worn them out. I looked for them on the Asics website and they don't make them anymore. Do any of you know of a similar shoe? I need something that's lightweight...and I run outside in all kinds of weather so I need something that is pretty durable....

Thanks so much!

  1. I wear nothing but Asics, and wore Asics Gel Frantics for about 6 months because they looked pretty cool; I wore them out though, and think I got a stress fracture from all the pavement running I was doing.

Recently bought Asics-Gel Nimbus 9's (bit pricey at $120) due to their cushioning; ran in them for 6 weeks now and haven't felt any pain whatsoever; calves got a bit of a shock though at first getting used to all the cushioning, but now it's all good.

  2. im totally with you girl! i only wear asics. i couldn't find my pair on there, but I tried these on(getting them 4 birthday) and are so light and comfy.

  3. Try the Asics DS-trainer, they are light weight and gives you cushion and support. The durability could be an issue if you heel strikes.

  4. You can still buy the Asics Gel III online. They're even on sale.  See

  5. Buy the updated version of that shoe.

  6. I have nothing to add or answer here... but I'm kind of proud to learn that I've accidentally fallen into a community of Asics lovers, thereby becoming a shoe snob.

I use mine for walking and very light jogging.
