Aside from a humidor, what is the best method of cigar storage?

I don't buy cigars by the box so for now it doesn't make sense for me to invest in a humidor just yet. I've heard so many conflicting opinions as to what method is the next best option for cigar storage aside from a humidor. Fridge? Freezer? Ziploc bag? Tupperware? What method is best and why? Thanks in advance.

You can find humidors relatively inexpensively and that would be one of your best options.

Double bagging in ziploc is a good, cheap way but only for a couple of sticks and not for long term storage.

Tupperware/Rubbermaid container would be best for longer term storage - being airproof, you would just need to make sure that you open the container weekly in order for air exchange.

The only issue is what you would use for humidity.......

Tupperware is airtight and waterproof when sealed properly.  it is excellent for long term storage of anything that needs a controlled environment.  there are many containers available that would perfectly fit a few cigars, and plenty that would fit a whole box.  they will keep the tobacco fresh for a very long time.  i had cookies in a tupperware canister that got stuffed in a long forgotten box when we moved....... 2 years later the cookies were still good enough to eat.  and i did.  still fresh and chewy, not dry and hard.  and the fat in them hadn't gone rancid (no exposure to air, no rancidity).  i strongly recommend tupperware and it's a minimal investment compared to a humidor and it should last at least as long, if not longer.  i have tupperware my great grandmother bought that i still use to this day.
