Here's an observation: I'll use myself as an example. I am a complex person with an identity constituted by many things. If I use a dominating component as a source of identity, I label myself with that component and "side" with it rather than give all components equal favor. If I stand back from that dominant component, it stands on its own and I stand on my own. This creates a psychological shift in that my ego had been wrapped around the dominant component and is now "in check." Could it be that our intolerance of each other is a projection of how tolerant we are within ourselves of the various components of our complexity as humans?

  1. I think that you have a good point.

We all need to understand that we have multiple intelligences and can apply different aspects of these diverse intelligences to any specific experience or thought.

And, to me, this is a cognitive decision which we can make based on reason and logic, rather than pure emotion.
