Aside from vacuuming, how can I clean an entrance rug?

How study is this rug?  I've had some real heavy rugs that I've used in my entrance ways and I've actually taken the hose to them and hung them outside...

If your vaccuum cleaner isn't the greatest, take the rug to the carwash and use their's !

Take it outside and skake it up until it is clean take is the only othe way

I hang mine over a clothes line outside and beat it with a stick.  It is brutal, but gets the job done!

I usually take my rugs out on the porch, all windows and doors closed *so the dirt doesn't drift back inside the house* and beat it with my hand while holding it with the other hand. If you need it cleaned cleaned.. like washed, you can probably spray it down with a garden hose.

Hang it over a line outside and beat it with a broom or stick to knock out as much dirt as you can....once I do that I then use the hose to spray it with high pressure water to clean out what might be left. Let it dry and replace it in front of door.
