Asign a set amount of bandwidth to each computer connected to the network?

is there anyway to set a limit to the bandwidth speed of my sons laptop? so he can't use up all the speed. i know i can do it on his laptop but is there anyway of doing it through the settings on my SMC router?

You might check out gaming routers. They are more expensive than the standard home router, but they do have some bandwidth managing abilities without costing as much as a true managed switch

Managed switches can do this, but they can be several hundreds of pounds each.
