Asjad Iqbal shocks Shahram Changezi in second semi-final of 2012 NBP Ranking Snooker tournamentSecond semi-final clash of the 2012 National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) Ranking Snooker tournament was played between the experienced Shahram Changezi and committed Asjad Iqbal.Asjad played outstandingly in the match up at the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Creek Club Billiards Hall and was able to beat his opponent by the score line of 6-4.Changezi stunned Iqbal from the very start when he cruised into one frame lead with a superb victory in the first frame by the score line of 50-53. Iqbal bounced back into the game with a classy performance in the second frame and pulled level 1-1 after clinching the second frame by the score line of 74-6. Iqbal showed his talent to the spectators and gave tough time to the experienced Changezi.The young Iqbal clicked another frame wins to grab the overall lead with one frame at 2-1. He won the second frame by the score line of 52-45. Changezi was under a lot of pressure but he stayed focus on the match and pulled level at 2-2 after winning the 26-73 in the fourth frame before the end of the first session.Until the finish of the first session, the clash seemed quite tussling as both players were outstanding at the national baize. The second session began with Iqbal’s classic come-back as he cruised into two-frame victories by the score line of 69-58 and 85-46. These two frame wins brought Iqbal in a strong position over Changezi and put him in a grim situation.Changezi was playing with all his skills and made his way back into the game with an easy win over Iqbal with 33-70 score line to move one frame up at 4-3 and was able to make an appearance on the table. Iqbal did not let him go easy in the match and extended his lead winning the eighth frame by the score line of 69-34.Shahram breezed into another frame victory at the beginning of the third session by the score 30-66 but it was not enough to unsettle his opponent as Iqbal took the cue superbly in the 10th frame and claimed the match victory.
