1. The main problem for Deaf people taking the exam is that the LET is given in English, and many Deaf are more effective at communicating using sign language. You should do whatever you can to practice your English communication skills, including chatting of Friendster or various instant messaging services. Do your best to write in complete sentences, with correct spelling, and ask other people to correct your mistakes. If you are living near Cebu City, there are some plans to have a sign language interpreter during the summer LET Review course at Cebu Normal University. If you change your profile to allow people to send you e-mail, I can send you more details.

Most Deaf people in the Philippines go to a school that uses Sign English (or some variation of Manually Coded English), which unfortunately doesn't precisely communicate information or correct English grammar. Many Deaf students get used to writing by following the grammar of their native sign language but transcribed with English nouns and verbs, and a lot of guess work for the other "functional" parts of speech. I could analyze some of your sentences, to suggest parts of English vocabulary and grammar that you may not have properly learned or internalized.

You use "true" where "really" is more suited (they have the same sign, but the two English words have very different uses). You use the noun "failure" instead of the verb form "failed" (remember to use past tense!). I am not sure what you mean with "Ask for me..." To communicate more clearly in English, you might say: "I really failed the last Teachers Board Exam, but I will try again next August. The Teachers Board Exam is really difficult for me. ..."

Of course to take the exam, reading is more important than writing. If you have good reading skills, you might pass even if your writing is not so good. So practice reading a lot.

Good Luck! Especially if you teach Deaf kids, I hope you pass! The kids need Deaf adults who can provide a role model and who can communicate clearly using sign language.
