Asking Salary for teller job. ?

I've recently applied for a wamu teller job and went in for an interview, it definitely seems like I've got the job. However I've only written down asking salary for 9.50 / hr. My friends are getting paid about 11.50 - 12/hr at commerce/chase. Do banks usually offer more than what your asking for?? or do they give you exactly what your asking for? and if they do give youwhat your asking for whats a good way to ask for more? Thanks

i believe wells fargo starts from $10- $12 an hour but i think u get more the more cash experience you have.  so even if it was using a cash register with a summer job you should play that up

If the job pays 10 and you are only asking for 9.50 they will most likely give you 10.  It really all depends on your experience level.  Also, the difference of pay might be because your friends started at a lower pay and have received raises.  Check out salary.com.  It will tell you what the average salary is for that position, at your level, in  your area
