Question:

Asking for a raise!?

I will be asking for a "raise" tomorrow! I have been working as a consultant although I function similarly to a regular employee (I have my own desk and work 9-5). I am self-employed, and have always been billing my employer through my own company. Therefore, I have been told that I should use the term "adjusting/reviewing my fees for September". My employer initiated both previous "raises". It's been a year since my last "raise". I've been working for the company for nearly a year and a half. I'm currently making $17/hr. I started at $12/hr. My performance has been exceptional throughout the year. How should I approach my boss (she is female around 45 yrs old)? Any other tips!???

  1. I would show examples of exceptional performance and how your productivity has lead to the company's growth and success over the last year.

-Explain your loyalty, accomplishments and your plan for the next year in terms of bringing more success to the company. Set goals for next year and how you will accomplish these goals.

    good luck
