Question:

Asking my Girlfriend to marry me...?

I've been dating my girlfriend for 3 years, and I'm ready to get married. i have an idea of what i want to do to propose but I'd love to hear other ideas people have done or thought of. i live in San Diego and would like to do something that involves the beach but it doesn't have to. I'd really like to hear ideas. thanks for any comments you can give!!!!

A really fun way is the "fake out." My wife (then fiancee) and I were planning on getting married and she told me that she wanted to get engaged before her birthday. Her stepdad was making the ring, and we all pretended that he was too busy and he wasn't going to be able to finish it in time. We hung out the night before her birthday, and I left at about 10 PM. She went to bed, her roommate let me in, I set up candles, dessert and a few presents for her birthday the next day and surprised her. I asked her with about 10 minutes to spare.

I know! Get a medium sized shell, put two tiny holes in it to run a ribbon through to secure the ring...then take a nice leisurely stroll. Sunrise or sunset, both would be so romantic.

I have always wanted to propose at sunset on Alcatraz Island.

Its peaceful, beautiful, and serine, with the lights of San Fran gleaming in the background.

Its also symbolic of the self incarseration and complete release of freedom.

After all, since marriage is supposed to last till death, that makes it a life sentance, right?

Awww, beach proposals are so great. Picnics are good. Sunset walks are sweet. Writing Marry Me.... in the sand is cool.

Whatever you do, don't forget to get down on one knee.

........my dream proposal..is on a beach and a candle light dinner and he just pops the question.....i like it to be simple and not to big of a deal

This might cost a little money, but you can hire people to get fireworks and shoot them up to spell " _____ Will you marry me?" and things like that.

and you could be on the beach while doing it.

My neighbor rented a house on the beach and then found a way to take her on the roof. Then before hand he had wrote I love u in the the sand and then at sun set he took her on the roof at sunset and proposed to her! I loved it!!! or you could have a picnic and then propose too her!!!!on the beach

In my church we have an overhead and screen, so that new comers can see the words to the worship songs and see the church announcements. Well, one member got permission from the pastor to ask the girl that he was courting to marry him on the screen when they did the announcements. The worker gave the announcement and then said look at the screen because we have a special video announcement. Everyone looked up and there he was all dressed up and saying all these good things about her and ending it with a proposal. She said yes of course and everyone raved for a long time at how he did it.

Do this I think it's awesome ...... Try to look for a Hotel that makes private Dinner for two right at the beach ok like you have the water right there and the sand too dress nice but something to match with sandals for the sand etc deal so like right when your having Dinner you could rent a night Blimp or an airplane you know those that advertised in the air but for night so it could have lights of course star having Dinner around sunset and almost at total night night have the message fly right in front of you guys and pop the question I think that's an awesome idea and she will never forget that, that's very unique don't you think. Ooh! If you live in San Diego, have a little date at the beach. Just have fun there and then propose! It'll be so cute, because she won't expect it, with all the fun she had.

I would do something that is personal and unique to your relationship. The beach would be beautiful... is there a song she likes that you could sing her, or does she like a drink, or food you could make her to eat/drink on the beach? Make it unique... good luck!

I don't know if they do it like this in San Diego, but on the east coast, there are always those airplanes that carry around advertisements and such, maybe you could hire one of those that spells out, "Will you marry me?" or something so that when you are cuddling on the beach you could point it out or something.

have a picnic on the beach watching the stars and tell her "you are as pretty as a star so pretty and wonder full that i want to ask you something (get down on knees and pull out ring) will you marry me" then she says "YES" wedding bells lol good luck
