Aspect Ratios Question (TV)?

What's the best settings on my TV + Set top box for aspect ratios?

My TV's: 4:3, 16:9, Panorama, Zoom.

Set Top Box: 4:3 (PB), 4:3 (LB), 16:9.

I've been fiddling around with it and I thought both on 16:9 would be the best, but a little bit of the top and bottom are cut off (about 2cm, and a lil bit of the sides), but I found with the Digital STB on 4:3 (LB) and the TV on Zoom the top and bottom are no longer cut off at all, but the sides still are. On the other hand I think there's a quality loss with the Zoom function.

What do you think?

  1. If your TV is 4:3 then set both to 4:3. If you have a 16:9 TV then set both for that. If you have a 16:9 tv and the picture is getting cropped with both cable box and tv in 16:9 mode, then you must have something set to zoom or your cable box needs to be adjusted to center the picture.

    I never use zoom.
