  1. My son has autism. We tried omega 3 fish oil capsules and this seemed to improve his verbal response and ability to concentrate to a certain level- then plateauxed at that level. Worth a shot, fish oil has many health benefits.

  2. The things that helped my roommate's children the mnost were:

Taking the medications, because you can't build up a habit when you can't focus long enough to learn.

One has since stopped the meds and is gooing on lifestyle changes, the other has not because he notices a difference in ability to focus.

1 - Balanced diet, with very regular meals, minimum junk food

    2 - Very regular schedules.

3 - Plenty of sleep ... get them up at the same time every day, and they need to go to bed in time to get up without prodding.

3 - Regular vigorous exercise ... preferably outdoors.  Sunshine is a biological clock re-setter.

4 - Daytimer ... all assignments, planned actvity, and everything goes in a single spot where is can be checked off when it is finished.  They may have superb recall for past events and trivia, but they can't remember what they planned to do. They have poor "prospective memory" ... not remembering what has to happen in the future.

5 - Teach them how to to make lists and plans, don't just expect planning ability to magically happen.

6 - If the Aspergers is serious, coach the child in what the "normals" expect ... almost as if the normals are a strange culture you need to fit into.

  3. My cousin has asbergers and ADHD as well.

    Here are some ideas:

    meditation

    relaxation

    hypnosis / hypnotherapy

    homeopathy

    herbalism (chinese herbalist)

    naturopathy.

If you want, you can send me an email and I can try and help you some more

    Best of luck x

  4. Don't use any 'alternative medicines'.

Ask your doctor what to do, if you care about the safety of your child.
