IDK...plz someone help me out cause I really dont wanna be stuck in Mississippi working in a funeral home all my life!! Im only 18 for Pete's Sake!! LOL!

  1. how do you know youre good? (im not saying you arent) have you done a lot of acting in plays and gotten good feedback or have you seen yourself on film reading a monologue? if you havent, you need to, and by the way a film acting job is MUCH harder to get than a theater job. you need an agent in order to hear about and audition for professional jobs. if someone is casting for a role in a movie, they most likely will not just ask anyone to come down and audition for it- that would be a huge waste of time and theyd have to see thousands of mediocre actors. if you are talking about getting an audition for a role in a real movie, you are one of millions- unless you are already very successful and have one of the best agents in the city you would never get the chance to audition for full length films at all. you need to get experience in theater and hone the craft before you can even think of acting in films (and even if you do have a lot of experience, the chance is unfortunately slim to none that you will be cast in a movie as anything other than an extra- those are just the odds). you wont be able to be a working actor in a small town in mississippi, period. you need to move to new york, la or chicago to have any sort of shot at a career in acting (but you will need to get a steady job while you are trying to audition- most actors are also waiters or retail clerks). but keep in mind these cities are FILLED with wannabe actors and actresses and competition is more fierce in this field than any other in the world. if youre asking how to get offered a script, you would have to be an established, well-known actor with a top agent for that, and thats not an easy thing to fulfill. your first step is to move and get the best agent you can (you have to have a relatively impressive resume to even get an agent in the first place though). and if an agent is offering to take you in as a client for any amount of money ITS A SCAM!! real agents dont charge their clients large fees up front to be a part of their agency. you can try to find auditions for things in your hometown, but i doubt youll find much, if anything at all. good luck, youll need it in this field!

  2. Same w/ me! I used 2 b in a commercail. I now go onto the internet. I found a good agency, and now, im  going 2 start trying out next year! Good Luck!

  3. Well I live in a big city(Toronto)so it's very easy for me to get commercial jobs and such. You can't just magically become a huge star you have to do work.If you're willing to spend around $260.00 you can get an account for aspiring actors on newfaces.com.But that site only shows you auditions. You can get an agent buy searching the web and the phone book.Never ever go to John Robert Powers they will ask for 1000 then another 3000 and then after 3 weeks it's like 5000.Agents will take 10% from your checks. You have to make a resume and headshot.Headshots could be from 20 dollars to 600 depending on were you get it.Moving is also an option.

    Good Luck,
