The Werder Bremen midfielder wants the team to return to winning ways in the upcoming clash against FC Augsburg.

Lukimya, who has been out of the last two games due to a suspension, claimed that the team needs to return to winning ways if they want to end the season with a place in Europe. The midfielder admitted that a win against Augsburg this weekend is very important as the teams above them are performing consistently well.

“If we want to carry on challenging for a place in Europe, we need to put together a winning streak. We have to start that in Augsburg. I am no longer looking back; the red card is behind me. All that matters now is concentrating fully on the game in Augsburg,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The midfielder stressed that his side played very well against Bayern Munich in the recent league clash and admitted that they did not deserve to lose the game. He added that his team fought well to create chances, but two late goals spoiled the party for the hosts.
“It was not easy for me. For me, the worst thing is seeing the lads play and only being able to cheer them on and not help the team. The defeat to Bayern was really frustrating. I think we held our own well for 80 minutes and then we conceded two goals, which was really bitter,” he concluded.
Werder Bremen will take on FC Augsburg at the SGL Arena on Friday, October 5.
