Ubisoft’s Press Conference was full of surprises ranging from Flo-Rida’s appearance on stage to Toby Turner’s co-hosting as well as some of the most exciting games to be shown this E3.
Microsoft’s Press Conference was an easy enough act to follow but EA raised the bar when it came to showing off some new titles with FIFA 13, Crysis 3 and Medal of Honor: Warfighter all impressing with their respective showings. Eight developers showed off eight different titles, reminiscent to EA’s previous year’s press conference.
Starting the Press Conference off was a live performance by Flo-Rida. The hip-hop sensation was on stage performing for Just Dance 4 and was followed by the host. YouTube sensation, Toby Turner was also in attendance as a co-host as he would pop-in every now and then to lighten up the atmosphere.
Special guest appearances apart, Ubisoft put on a solid show as it demoed a number of games for consoles, both for the current generation or the next one. Assassin’s Creed 3 impressed, as tradition decrees yet Far Cry 3 raised the bar for the series and Watch Dogs had everyone excited.
The new IP from Ubisoft Montreal showed off some smooth visuals, slick gameplay and something that gamers had not seen before, although there were comparisons with Hitman and Grand Theft Auto with a touch of Assassin’s Creed, but that is a combination no one has seen before.
Far Cry 3 on the other threw a fair amount of unexpected nudity at the audience as well as an insane amount of action with an ending that left everyone scratching their heads but that too in a good way.
A Rayman game for the Nintendo Wii U was shown off as well, which looked like the type of title that ought to get gamers excited for the new console.
Last, but in no way the least, was Assassin’s Creed 3’s mind blowing CGI trailer. All in all, the Ubisoft Press Conference hit every nail on the head.
