A screenshot of the third instalment in Ubisoft’s series has hit the internet almost confirming what everyone already knew.
There are a number of ways one can get news in the gaming world. Review sites and blogs are one of them, yet even this source has its own sources.
In recent years, stories have come from such a wide array of sources that the gamer must keep a vigilante eye out at all times. Sometimes, one can find a story on Twitter direct from the people working on the game, sometimes retailers ‘accidently’ list the
products before them off, other times details pop up on CVs or, in this case, a screenshot or image is leaked.
Rumours strongly hinted towards the series heading towards either Egypt or the American Revolution. However, as time wore on more reports began emerging on the latter and it seems that a recent leaked screenshot has all but confirmed that bit of speculation.
The screenshot shows a new Assassin in the trademark ‘hood over the eyes’ pose on the left side with an American flag, a commander of the American troops and the same Assassin standing just behind him on the right side.
The picture seems credible enough and the source reliable but what really has everyone excited is the fact that Ubisoft confirmed that the gaming population could expect a major announcement on the next instalment in the series in a few days time.
The leaked screenshot may have taken some of the sting out of the announcement, though Ubisoft may just have a surprise up its sleeve as they did with Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.
Personally, we are hoping for another one of the series’ kick a*s trailers to be shown come announcement time, however, seeing how early it is in the year and how E3 is a few months away it could be anything.
All in all, it seems that Ubisoft has one foot in the American Revolution but we will have to wait and see where the other foot and the hidden blade land when they do make the announcement in a few days time.
