Assassin’s Creed 3 Multiplayer Blowout – Video Games Update
Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Assassin’s Creed 3 which reveals many new features from the games’ multi-player mode.
The first new addition to the series is the ability to customise your multi-player character. This means that gamers will be able to create almost unique characters for the multi-player. Chances are that most of the customisation options will be locked at
first and will be unlocked as a reward for completing multi-player objectives. The downside to this is that Ubisoft might take a page from Capcom’s book and start charging gamers for custom character costumes and items.
The multi-player trailer has also revealed new game modes. The first one being called Domination, which is a four versus four team based mode, where the objective is to attack and defend territories to score points. This is basically the Assassin’s Creed
version of Domination from Call of Duty games but is a much needed addition to the mundane multi-player of the series.
The second new mode is called Wolfpack which is a two to four player co-op mode. The objective in Wolfpack is to race against time to quickly take out all the AI targets on the map. This is the first co-op based addition to the multi-player mode in the series
and might become very popular considering the unique stealth based game-play elements of the series.
In addition to the new game modes and the character customisation options, Ubisoft has also revealed that Assassin’s Creed 3 will feature a fully functional multi-player experience with a competitive ranking system which allows gamers to compare their performances
against those of their friends and other players. Ubisoft has also revealed that the game will reward dedicated players with first access to bonus content and other Assassin’s Creed related items (probably downloadable content).
In other news Ubisoft also revealed the release date of the PC version of Assassin’s Creed 3. Like always, it will not be released with the console versions as Ubisoft probably wants to get the most out of the game sales from consoles before it brings the
game out for PC where the majority of gamers are likely to pirate it. Assassin’s Creed 3 comes out on October 30, 2012 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and will be available for PC gamers on November 20, 2012.
