Ubisoft are hoping to take the series to greater heights according to Game Informer with a new engine and a more historic ‘storyline’ as well as the size of the maps.
As revealed earlier, Ubisoft are set to shake things up in terms of what the series is known for in terms of gameplay with their latest game. Very few of the animations used in the previous game are set to make a return this time around and it turns out that the plot of the game is set to tie in with historical events more.
A new engine has been developed from scratch to power the game and can accommodate a thousand-man battle if the need for it arises and will also cater for traversal of cliffs and trees.
Yet, what is interesting is the scale that has been discussed in terms of map size. It turns out that the Frontier map, which is one of a number of maps in the game, is 1.5 times the size of the map used in the, second iteration of Ezio’s outing in, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood.
At the same time the maps are set to be filled with content for the players to keep themselves busy with including hunting (something that Red Dead Redemption fans will surely be looking forward to).
As for in game cinematics, well they are also set to follow the same in-game graphics concept as the previous games in the series but with improved facial animations and 2.5 hours of scenes in the game that were recorded in the same style as the Uncharted games were.
It seems that Mr. Nolan North’s suggestion during the development process of Revelations was taken quite seriously by Ubisoft and that can only be great for the game.
Assassin’s Creed 3 has also clocked in more hours in terms of development than any other game in the series, which has to be the reason that Ubisoft are claiming that it is the “biggest in the series”.
All in all the details are sure to have everyone excited but the fact of the matter is that Ubisoft are set to make an announcement themselves tomorrow (5th of March) and we’re hoping that the ‘announcement’ is a trailer.
