Ubisoft confirms that the next instalment in their best-selling series will be released on the 30th of October later on this year.
Ever since Altair made his debut in one of the most spellbindingly badass trailers over five years ago, there has been plenty of attention surrounding every new release in the Assassin’s Creed series.
Altair was the first Assassin’s Creed protagonist as Ezio de Auditore de Firenze took over the main hero’s responsibility for the next three games. Starring in Assassin’s Creed 2, Brotherhood and Revelations, players became intimate with the character that
completed his part in the series with Revelations.
However, Desmond Miles, the modern day descendant of the assassin’s still has more in store in his quest to prevent the destruction of the world. How the character will go about it is what is currently interesting everyone.
Rumours and speculation as to where the series will go, time period wise, have been raging since it was announced that Revelations would see the end of both Ezio and Altair.
Egypt was an early favourite after it appeared on a survey via the Ubisoft website and the rich history of the land would surely be the perfect setting for the next game in the series. At the same time however, the American Revolution also sounds like the
perfect fit to Ubisoft’s description of the next game.
Ubisoft’s CEO< Yves Guillemot, stated, “Assassin’s Creed 3 is the true next generation of both the Assassin’s Creed brand and interactive entertainment/storytelling in general.”
www.dbuz.com earlier reported on how Ubisoft boasted that the latest game would be the biggest in the series and that was reiterated by the CEO who claims that publisher is investing more in Assassin’s Creed 3 than any other game in the series.
Earlier on, Ubisoft also confirmed that they would be following their annual release model and that Assassin’s Creed 3 would be released by the end of 2012. The latest statement by Guillemot not only backed up that news, but also gave everyone a date for
what is sure to be one of the most eagerly anticipated titles of the year.
