Ubisoft is creating hype for both the third instalment in the core AC series as well as an, as yet, unannounced title.
Ubisoft has really come to the forefront of publishers during the current generation of consoles and the main reason for this has to be the Assassin’s Creed series. The game latest instalment of which, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, broke all previous sales records of the studio; so one can imagine that they will be fairly confident of emulating their success come the 31st of October this year.
‘Why is that date important’, one might ask? Well, for those who have not been living in Mohawk, which is the date that the latest iteration of the Assassin’s Creed series is scheduled for release.
Rob Cooper, who is in-charge of Ubisoft’s UK division, claims that the game will not only attract new gamers but it will also be able to hold off competition from the likes of other Triple-A titles that will be releasing around the same time.
“This is a great time for gamers to join the adventure. There’s a huge will from Ubisoft to bring more gamers into this universe.” He continued, “Assassin’s Creed 3 is the biggest and most ambitious launch in Ubisoft’s history so we absolutely believe this game will continue to grow the franchise.”
As for releasing the game around the time FIFA 13, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Halo 4 are set to release as well, the Ubisoft boss seemed confident the game could hold its own.
“This is a huge investment for us and we’re extremely confident that together, all these factors will put us in pole position to compete against other titles this Xmas.”
As for the other bit of news regarding a new title, it turns out that Ubisoft Toronto is set to announce its first triple-A title. Jade Raymond, the head of the studio, stated, “We are about to announce our first big triple-A being developed by the studio.”
She went on to add that the game was shaping up better than expectations and that they cannot wait to blow fans away. Chances are that the game will be the next instalment in the Splinter Cell series.
