Ubisoft have released the first Downloadable Content pack for Assassin’s Creed: Revelations filled with maps to keep the multiplayer component fresh.
Downloadable Content Packs are as common these days as green fields and exotic birds were in the past and while some may argue that DLC Packs are a way for publishers to exploit gamers who already pay a heavy price tag for the original game, the cries seem
to have fallen on deaf ears.
That can of worms of a debate aside the Mediterranean Traveller pack is online and available for purchase and download via each platform’s respective online digital distribution platforms.
The DLC itself is a map pack which adds a fresh coat of paint to a number of fan favourite maps from the previous entry in the series, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood.
There are a total of six maps that are included including the aforementioned fan favourites, as well as a few new one for gamers who want something fresh.
Ubisoft described the map pack themselves in an online statement which read, “Players can journey to the majestic holy city of Jerusalem, the opulent imperial district of Constantinople and the colourful mercantile district of Dyers.”
That was it for the new maps, yet it went on to describe which of the old maps players could revisit, “To start, players will explore the historic city of Firenze (Florence), then travel to the mountains of San Donato and visit night-time Siena with its
carnival lights, talented performers and deadly hiding spots.”
There is a slight catch as although the DLC pack has been released PlayStation 3 users in Europe will have to wait until tomorrow before they can get their hands on the new maps.
As for other regions they can download and play it as of this moment. The Mediterranean Traveller pack will set PlayStation 3 users back 7.99 British Pounds while Xbox 360 users will get it for a relatively cheaper 800 Microsoft Points.
One can rest assured that this will not be the last DLC pack gamers will be seeing from Ubisoft, yet how expansive the next one is will depend on the success of this one.
