In a current development regarding the growing notoriety of the Indian Premier League, one of the many controversies to rear their heads during the ongoing 5th season of the tournament appear to be reaching a resolution as the molestation charges brought against Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman Luke Pomersbach were recently dropped.
The 27-year-old was charged with molesting a US National at the Maurya Sheraton in Delhi, in addition to physically assaulting her fiancé when he attempted to stop the cricketer. Pomersbach was arrested and charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, but was later granted bail by a http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 court, owing to lack of evidence against him. He was also suspended by the RCB team management.

He was fined an undisclosed sum for having made comments which were “prejudicial to the interests of the ECB and a breach of the England player conditions of employment in relation to clauses regarding public statements,” according to a statement released by the board.

Former Essex pacer Mervyn Westfield, who was sentenced to four months in prison earlier this year owing to spot-fixing charges, has expressed the intent to launch an appeal against his conviction.
The 24-year-old was jailed earlier this year for having accepted a sum of 6000 pounds in exchange for agreeing to concede a fixed amount of runs during the first over of a Pro-40 match played in September 2009 between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Essex-c783 teammate, who had set up the deal.
Westfield was released in April this year, after serving half his sentence, and has been summoned to a disciplinary hearing with the ECB, the official date of which is yet to be announced.
