a*****e neighbors with car alarms who get drunk and yell and argue until all hours of the night?

OK so I live in a nice working class neighborhood with an openspace/park behind my house. My neighbors are the last house on the street, so we are the only neighbors they have. The problem is that they have three generations of their family and some additional relatives who all live there and apparently they all have car alarms that seem to be...well...sensitive. The alarms are constaintly going off and they are aparently are in no hurry to turn the things off, it's extremely annoying especially in the summer when all the windows are open. I could understand if we lived in a less than desireable neighborhood, but it's suburbia, where the worst that happens is kids pulling stupid pranks. These people also regularly get drunk, argue, slam doors, and stay up till sunrise. (I'm talking about grandparents!) What do I do. If I call the cops and complain they will surely think it was me and then I have to deal with pissed off retarded neighbors who suck, really suck.

Sounds exactly like my neighbors.  These aren't the kind of people you can 'talk' to and if you call the police you can probably expect things to get worse.  Hope you find a solution, it's over 10 years I've been living next door to the psyco ward.  I like the ear plugs idea.

My boyfriend says that you can cal the cops and tell them the situation and how often it happens.  When you call them, let them know you don't want them to know it was you because of how close you guys live and they would know it was you.  They'll do a drive by and the cops will just say they were in the neighborhood and noticed these things going on.  His mom did that once and that's what happened!

If that isn't the case, then I would try to talk to one of the people there who you think wouldn't be so judgmental and just say that you want to live peacefully and could they try to accomodate for their neighbors.  Hopefully if you're nice about it, they won't be too bothered.  Most likely they will stop for a bit but go back to it... but at least you were nice about it!

The best thing to do is just keep calling the cops, they will get the hint after a while. It sucks to have to put up with that but they cant be 100% its you calling the cops. I wouldnt bother talking to them because then if they continue and you do call the cops then they will know it was you who called.

You need a neighbourhood Watch Program!  People just can't run around 'Suburbia', especially, - where decent people like you and others live, people who work and have kids..- can act any way they want, with no consideration for others..-  and have a right to complain.

I'm wondering why The Police would 'tell on you'.  There should be some way of being anonymous..

Where I live, in a condo apt. bldg., we have a Security firm who takes the calls and nobody questions who complains.

Don't confront them personally, though.  You never know what kind of behaviour they're capable of, especially after hearing what you posted!

Try talking to them when they are sober and coherent. If they don't listen, then call the cops. At least you tried. Call the cops every night if you have to. Eventually, they'll get the idea.

you call the cops and then u have trouble from them, you may not ever catch them sober and if you did , they wouldn't remember talking to you when they got drunk again, and you cant talk to a drunk, if you confront them you will have problems  the best reaction is no reaction, get some earplugs or move and if you call the cops they will know who did it because like u said they are your only neighbors.
