Raelene Boyle competed at the olympics in 1968 and 1972 where she won three silver medals.

then she won 7 gold and 2 silver at various commonwealth games.

Raelene Boyle was one of Australia best runners but as she got older she seem to develop nerves hence she did two false start in her last olympics, most Australian did feel for her.

Later after retirement she developed breast cancer but  got in into remission,I'm not sure is she has done another round with the disease, she was working as a gardener for quite some time

She also appears to be a good mentor to other runners hence she often goes to each olympics.

Her public image never recovered despite some reasonable performances at the subsequent Munich Olympics.

Later cheating allegations against Ms Boyle were never substantiated.

She was the one caught cheating at the Mexico Olympic Games. She tried to start before the starter's gun went off on no less than two separate occasions. In the end, she was disqualified. Most Australians were deeply ashamed, but many have forgiven her in recent times.

The rumours about her being a drug cheat are, on balance, unfounded.
